On November 8, 2016, Arizona voters enacted Proposition 206: The Fair Wages and Healthy Families Act ("Act"), which requires virtually all employers to provide paid sick leave to its part-time and full-time employees effective July 2017. The Act contains ambiguities and gaps that the Industrial Commission addressed in recently released regulations. The presentation will provide guidance on how to navigate through these challenging areas and how to implement them in your workplace.

Our Guest Speaker

John Balitis received his Juris Doctor from the University Of Virginia School Of Law in 1987 and also holds a bachelor’s of Arts in English & Political Science from Dickinson College.

John was admitted to AZ bar in 1988 and currently is an Attorney/Director at Fennemore Craig and chairs the employment and labor relations practice group. He has complete practice management over three (3) states markets.

 John is also a board member of Southwest Human Development, Contemporary Forum of the Phoenix Art Museum, Florence Crittenton Services of AZ and president of Chrysalis Shelters for Victims of Domestic Violence and was awarded Best Lawyers in America and Southwest Super Lawyers.
