About the Program

It’s been a busy year for total rewards public policy issues. From historic tax reform legislation passing, to new Department of Labor initiatives, and a renewed focus from the public on gender pay equity with the attention garnered from the #MeToo and #TimesUp campaigns – there are plenty of workplace public policy issues permeating in DC.

WorldatWork’s Melissa Sharp Murdock, director of external affairs will present at our October meeting to provide rewards practitioners with a public policy overview. Learn what federal workplace issues are top of mind for members of Congress and the Trump Administration as the mid-term elections approach. And find out what issues may be in the spotlight if the Democrats win control of Congress.

Melissa’s presentation will address:

  • Summary of tax reform and what it means for employer-sponsored benefits
  • Cadillac tax delay update
  • Department of Labor priorities, including the latest on FLSA overtime regulations
  • EEOC’s latest Strategic Plan and Washington DC’s response to heighten attention on gender pay equity
  • Latest developments on retirement and paid leave proposals
